Is there a SCW update for SQL 2005?

B

Bendji

Greetings all,

I'm looking at securing af SQL 2005 server installed on a windows 2003 SP2
server and was thinking about using SCW, since that could be used for SQL
2000.

I was wondering if there is an update to SQL 2005 for SCW? I've search the
Internet but not found any, so perhaps SQL 2005 is secure by default or?

I hoped there was some kind of update like for ISA 2006.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Yours Sincerely,
Benjamin

Hello Benjamin,

I have not seen any SCW roles for SQL Server 2005, sorry to say.
Please look at the Best Practices Analyzer, and begin hardening your
server with that utility.

Been there done that sire.

Was wondering if any has used the SQL 2000 xml template in SCW for SQL 2005?
I just tried to run it, without applying it. Some of the "new" SQL 2005
services is being listed as additional services.

but if any has tried it or I'm eager to hear about their experience with it.
:)

And thanks for the reply J wolfgang.

Yours Sincerely,
Benjamin
