Windows can't verify the publishers of this driver software

I have a Dell Inspiron 5521 running Windows 7 Home Premium. While in Device Manager I noticed the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Mini Port Adapter was disabled. Your guess is as good as mine as to how or why the Adapter was disabled but I'll work on that later. When I enabled the Adapter Windows the adapter was turned on and working properly. Not knowing just how long the adapter had been disabled I proceeded to update the driver. After awhile Windows came back with a red banner error which read "Windows can't verify the publishers of this driver software" and recommended not to install the driver. In
