My computer originally came with same version of windows 7 .Why am I getting an error when I try to activate a fresh install??

After I locked myself out of the log in screen on my computer I had to borrow a disc and reinstall Windows 7 on my computer. Now I'm getting an error message that says windows 7 came preinstalled on my computer and wont validate the new install. What do I have to do to reactivate my new windows 7?They're the same version Thanks!
