Speech recognition software and correcting errors

So I had a thought while correcting my Speech recognition software for the thousandth time today: Can this software be made any better? The software is already capable of correcting itself (supposedly) by saying "Correct <Word>" and then selecting from the choices or spelling it out. But this either doesn't work for me or
