Keyboard keeps dying

My wireless keyboard 850 model 1455 keeps dying. The keyboard turns on but constantly requires new batteries. After a hour or two, the keyboard red light turns on and then the keyboard dies. I tried putting new batteries but it doesn't work and the keyboard still only lasts 1 to 2 hours. The mouse is working fine so the problem is with the keyboard.
