Unable to download .NET 4.5

Hi, I am unable to download .NET 4.5 onto my windows 7 PC. I was told it may be because the older .Net 4 needed to be uninstalled first which I have done, but I still cannot download .Net 4.5 - does anyone have any ideas, please?
