When control key is pressed, windows beeps

I have absolutely no idea why this happens but I accidentally pressed some command or something and now when I press the control key and just the control key repeatedly, windows emits an annoying beep tone. Sticky keys, toggle keys, and filter keys are disabled but the issue still persists. Any help is appreciated.
