Nice. Malware couldn't do a better job than Comodo could, could it ?

I did but I have Comodo on XP, not Vista, and it works just fine, as do
Windows Updates.

I'd recommend upgrading to the new version anyway as it includes other
fixes.

I ran an update with the console and it says none are available. That
said, I am running 3.0.13.268. Does the new version install over the top
or must one uninstall the current install?

Dunno. What does Comodo Support say?

Looks like Comodo doesn't offer the update within the console.

I guess that leaves uninstalling the present one and installing the new
one to be on the safe side. Sigh. That's easier than asking on their
forums -)

I found a support article about the new version having problems if the
old version isn't completely uninstalled so I guess one has to uninstall
the older version before installing the new one.

Well, that's an older post and it concerns Comodo Pro, not the free version.
It /may/ apply to Comodo Free but YMMV.

I'm running Comodo Pro on two machines and paid absolutely nothing. Pro
*is* the free version. See http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/ where
it states:

"Unlike some other 'free' firewalls, this is not a stripped down version
but is the full, completely functional product. Updates and upgrades are
also free."

OK, I sit corrected. So we've come to the conclusion that it's probably
best to uninstall your current version before installing the new one.

Which is what I will do. That said, Comodo Pro running in XP is similar
to UAC in Vista. I'm impressed.
