Windows XP OS install will not complete do to missing asms file

I was trying to Repair WINDOWS XP Pro using OS Installation disk. after files were loaded XP opened with text box saying missing asms file insert Windows XP Service Pack 2 disk or type pathway to access file from another source.It says on Windows XP Pro that service Pack 2 is included. Please advise RW
