dell vostro 3360 i3 sleep mode problem

i shut down my dell vostro 3360 core i3. yesterday. then when i started the laptop, it automatically went to sleep mode Now the power button light blinks with no display in screen but does not do anything even after i pressed power button for some time. my power cable is fine. but the laptop does not come out of sleep mode since last 24 hours. the battery is inbuilt. so i cant access or remove and reset it. please assist.
