Can't access the BBC sites

Help! My laptop stopped being able to access any of the BBC sites a month or so ago. I can find the links via both IE and Chrome but they just don't go through, I simply get the spinning wheel indicating the site has been found and is loading, but it never actually loads. I'm running Windows 7. TIA
