File Type

[S1L1Y1]

I don't remember which program I downloaded and installed because I removed
it, since then I have a problem all .DAT files show that icon from that
program and in properties it says that it is a Video CD Movie Type and can't
open the file because it is a .dat file and not video file. How do I solve
it?

Could have been 'Nero - Burning Rom' or perhaps some other media
player. See if this posted by Alan Edwards help you out:

Important! Also there should be no '>' characters at the line
beginnings, like there where when i quoted Alan's post. It should
look like what's below instead.

Thank You for your reply is it possible that the following problem I have is
associated with this problem:
Since yesterday when I click a link that has to open a new window it will
not open, I tried Firefox and it does work only in Internet explorer it
doesn't. I have Windows 98SE and IE6.
