I was trying to get files backed up off of a laptop that had Windows 7. The laptop had crashed and would only bring up a black screen with a pointer. Tried everything and couldn't get it to come back. The last resort was reinstalling Windows 7 and grab the files from the Windows.old file. I reinstalled Windows 7 and there was no old file. I've searched through the drive trying to find something, but haven't found anything. Anything else I can try to find or am I screwed?TIA!
