How to stop windows from deleting constantly?

About 30 minutes ago, I was working CAD software and content I was trying to add kept getting deleted. Then Windows is asking me to confirm I want to delete the Excel file I had open. I clicked No at least 6 times. Then in Outlook all my emails for the past 2 days deleted from my inbox before my very eyes. What is going on? I quickly closed Outlook and rebooted. I was able to recover the emails from the Trash but I'm scared it will start deleting critical files. I have a deadline to meet!
