Should I move my files from C drive to E drive?

I have only two drives, C and E ,and i want to move some of my files from C drive to E drive. I just want to ask if it is safe to move those to E drive. Also are there any specific steps to do or a cut-paste would be enough? I don't really understand much about this topic so it would be very kind of you to help!
