Surface Pro 7 with Windows 10 Home - Type keyboard triggers endless loop of autorotate prompts

Everytime I connect my Type Keyboard to my Surface Pro 7, the computer enters an endless loop of autorotate prompts. Prompts say 'Autorotate On' even though it's supposed to be automatically disabled when the keyboard is attached.Going into settings does NOT solve it. The autororate switch is greyed out.Notices icon (lower right hand corner) does not help either - it's greyed out.Everytime the prompt comes up, the computer freezes. Any suggestions? How can I disable autorotate permanently? I don't need it.
