I added a new 8gb ram module and my screen produces static when booting that won’t end

So i added another 8gb ram module meaning i now have 16gb but whenever i boot my pc it shows either static or a completely green screen. Its been happening for about 2 hours now. Ive tried restarting and the automatic repair doesnt work.
