help with mouse driver

Hello, I am having an issue with my acer aspires 5750's mouse pad. here is how it all started:ever since i plugged in a new mouse into the usb port, I got this message saying my mouses driver for the touch pad is invalid. Meaning I couldn't use the scroll bar that is used in a slider fashion up, down. even when i unplugged my mouse it still occurs.When I try to scroll using two fingers it glitches and moves weirdly. Do i live with the issue or reinstall the driver?
