I've been using WinRAR forever. It's a very good archiving tool with many useful features and an extremely intuitive interface. Within the last week, though, there have been two puzzling incidents, the type of which I detail: I download an archive, open it in the WinRAR GUI, and delete two trash files serving no purpose that meets my needs. Sometimes archives that I procure have files with a file extension separator but no file extension.
