Should I clean install or upgrade from Windows Professional 7 to Windows 10

I plan to shift from my Windows 7 Professional OS to Windows 10 on my HP Elitebook 840G Core i5. Should I upgrade or do a clean install? I am not very technically savvy.

In my opinion, you should do a clean install because of 2 reasons:-

1. Backup files of Windows 7 will not consume space on your Windows 10 operating system.
2. Clean install is a great way to start with new operating system.
