Japanese IME not working?

Hello.I installed a Japanese language pack on my computer. However, upon attempting to switch keyboards to Japanese, the language bar on my taskbar immediately disappears. (If set to English, it says EN as normal). All of the normal keyboard shortcuts (Windows+Space, alt-shift, etc) work just fine to switch the language, but upon actually switching, the language bar completely disappears. This happens when manually clicking on the language bar as well. What's going on here? I've tried rebooting and checking for updates, but nothing works. Thanks!

Hi Hi
The best thing you can do is update Windows. important points:
1. REMOVE the Japanese language before updating.
2. UPDATE WINDOWS and finally RESTART the system.
3. Now, INSTALL the language and the PACK and SET MY WINDOWS DISPLAY LANGUAGE.
*For me, these methods worked.
