Too many tries opening Microsoft account when trying to download Minecraft

I am attempting to download Minecraft for PC for my son. He is a minor and it is requiring permission from me, using my microsoft account. Whenever I attempt to login in order to give him permission, I get this message: Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later.The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.I have tried using different browsers, clearing cache, etc. Nothing is working. I am SUPER frustrated as this seems to be a problem for many. Can someone please tell me
