After Windows 10 install, no sound, can external sound card help like Usb typed one. Please don't go unanswered.

After Fresh windows 10 install, my computer's built in sound stopped working, with unable to install any audio driver, so my question is can external sound card or external usb sound card help me to hear sounds from my pc and have sound device? Please answer without leaving here.
