"Make text larger" problematic after all these years?

I recently revisited Settings/Make text larger (MTL) using updated Win. 10 while trying to assist someone with declining vision; I reported that it worked well - he thought it wouldn’t work properly and I stated that that was a view I’d formed also but apparently with updates over the years it was now usable. I increased the size again and noted that any drafting of a comment in Facebook led to the cursor going outside the comment area - I think whenever I pressed the space bar; turning off the MTL fixed this. The issue seems clearly related but may only apply beyond a certain level of tex
