What do the different device profiles under "Windows Color System Defaults" do?

The company that provide IT support for regularly see a problem where they can't open some images in windows photo viewer. I have found a fix online which is to go to colour management, advanced, and change device profile to "Agfa: Swop Standard". Is there any downsides to choosing this device profile over the system default, and what will selecting this change (other than fixing the bug with photo viewer)?Thanks
