"Fooling" SSD's with little storage into accepting updates to Win. 10 via USB ESD (WIM files) downloaded from ....?

I wasn’t able to download cumulative updates and had about 4gb of space on my SSD; after lengthy procedures I got on to Microsoft Tier 3 and we downloaded what I think is called an ISO; it's titled ESD-USB (a WIM file is yet another name apparently): I was initially told that this was to “fool” the device into accepting the update. I didn’t see where it was sourced from and apparently Tiers 1 and 2 were unaware of it/them. I have it on a 32GB USB 3 Flash drive which I would like to return to use for storage but want to have access to this means of getting the laptop to accept
