I have recently started to suddenly have sound problems. I do not think there was any update after the sound problems started to happen. Currently, if something is playing, Windows just doesn't even register that any audio is being played. For example, if I play a video on YouTube on Firefox, at first it'll take really long for the playback to actually start, after it does start, Windows doesn't register any sound coming from Firefox in volume mixer, or any other application for that matter.
