Windows Backup is taking up C: Drive Space

Hi,I'm on Windows 10 21H2 (current 4/26/22).I use Windows Backup and Restore (Windows 7) Utility to backup my system disk (only). And I use Windows Explorer to copy the User directory to backup my D disk. Before I started first of two backups, I cleaned up the C drive using Properties>Disk Cleanup and also Bit Defender OneStep Optimizer and had 20.4 GB free on a 254 GB system disk.I created 1st backup (C/D) on 1st external disk and the C: went from 20.4 to 18.7 GB free.I created 2nd baclkup (C/D) on 2nd external disk and the C: went from 18.7 to 16.4 GB free.
