USB Audio Codec Issues

I've been using a stereo mixer to record via USB into Adobe Audition and just noticed an issue with the stereo channels. When recording with one channel panned hard left and the other hard right, one channel goes all but silent. When the audio signal is output to an external recorder both channels separate properly so I'm guessing it's an issue with the USB Audio Codec. Any ideas you might have would be most appreciated.
