My monitor supports lower resolution but it deosn`t feel smooth when i try it

Hello, My monitor supports lower resolution : The problem is that when i try to use to play fps shooter games like Valorant (for example 75 or 85 Hz on 1280x1024 or 1024x768) it feels like 30 HZ . Any help to fix it? It is not that important for me to play on 60 Hz 1366x768 but if i play game like a Valorant i would like to feel it smoother.
