Why will background videos not play in any browser on Win 10?

The problem began today even before the latest MS Win 10 update. When I browse to websites (including my own) with any browser, instead of seeing the background video I know is there, I only see a white background. Obviously this is a Win 10 issue. What do I need to do to fix this?
