Permissions on XP Security tab grayed out

I have a department share, where the director is suppose to have Full access
to the share and subfolders.

The share is on a Windows server 2003 SP2.
The computer the uses is XP Pro with SP2.
Share rights are set at Change.
NTFS rights for the director are set to Full Control .

the problem I’m having is this: When the director whishes to change
permissions on subfolders or documents, both the add and remove button are
grayed out. The director can’t change any of the permissions for the
existing users.

Change is less than Full, including its lack of alter permissions.
Share level grants limit how much of NTFS grants may be used remotely.
So, what you report is percisely what is expected.
