I suspect this may be a hardware problem since I opened up my PC to clean it and bumped the headphone jack cable where it connected to the motherboard, and there were no Windows updates or installations that happened that could be the culprit, however I did make sure the cable was aligned correctly when I noticed it had been bumped out of place, and I highly doubt I could have messed up the connection on the HEADPHONE JACK end of the cable since it's in a really tight, awkward nook of the PC case... so I'm at my wit's end.
