Windows 10 - Windows 95 Compatibility Not Working

I have an old Windows 95 (3.1) PC game that I'm trying to play on my Windows 10 laptop. I've tried using compatibility mode and selecting Windows 95, then applying the settings, and then trying to run the game, but it's not working and I get the same error message "This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for you PC, check with the software publisher." Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for this?
