Why does my Peek to preview randomely stop working?

I'm using Windows 10 on Desktop and I've noticed this bug for a few months now that every so often the Peek to preview feature from hovering the mouse over any programs located on the taskbar stops working. When this does happen the only thing that fixes it is a system restart. I have the 'Peak to preview' option enabled in both the Taskbar settings and in the performance options.Does anybody know why this bug occurs? And what I can do to stop it from happening?
