Could I expedite the security code email change process?

Let's say theoretically, my account was hacked. I filled out the account recovery form successfully and reset the password, and when I went to the security tab, it prompted me to ask if I still used the hacker's email address. Obviously I didn't, so I would say to change it and it would send me a link to change it. But then afterwards it prompted me with the screen saying I have to wait 30 days for the email to be changed back to my own. But, while I wait, I can't go into the security tab to try and lock the hacker out of my account. Theoretically, would it be feasible for me to cancel the ema
