my bluetooth earbuds connect as headphones, but not as a headset

My Bluetooth earbuds (ifrogz airtime 2) connect and work perfectly well, but recently I have been unable to use their built in microphones, after trying a few things I discovered this,for some reason, I can connect and disconnect from the option labelled "Headphones" just fine, but trying to connect the option labelled "headset" doesn't do anything, I simply click on "connect" and nothing happens, I've tried disabling it and re-enabling it, I've tried disconnecting and disabling the "headphones" option, and I've tried doing all the same in the "Recording" tab, which looks like this,I have two
