Several years ago I moved this file from the Windows folder to the C drive
on an old computer. I would like to move it back to the Windows folder.
For the life of me I can't remember how !!!!!!!!!!!!
Point me in the right direction.

WIN386.SWP is your Virtual Memory = Windows swap file.
In a standard Win98 configuration, if this file is not found at
boot Windows creates a new (empty) one. We do not need
to port this file from one PC to another.

Why move it? Why not just delete it (in DOS), and let it rebuild itself.

Depends on what you have set up for the swap file configuration. That is,
are you allowing windows to manage it (as is normal) - or not (if you
changed its settings, for example).

Normally, if windows is managing the swap file, it should be in c:\windows
directory, otherwise it may be in the root folder (IIRC).

The one on C:\ got created when the one in C:\Windows got deleted (and then,
presumably, later created.) Delete the one on C:\ and it should stay gone.
