I Can Still Delete and Rename Write Protected Files

Hi, I write protected a directory for an old report. The directory contains about 100 different files and sub directories. I write protected the top level directory in File Manager/Properties/Attributes->Read Only, and applied changes to subfolders and files. Now when I open one of the files in the protected directory, with the program that created it, it will not let me write back to the original file as would be expected. So thats good. But, I can still delete or rename any of the files or subdirectories. I can also move the files and directories to other locations, I can also crea
