It is a very common issue apparently - I have found out the cause for my case, but was not able to come out with a solution. It is quite annoying. (please do not bother with posting "set to General Items" solution - it does not work in this case, I have already set up the downloads folder (and subfolders) to general items)The explorer freezes, every time I try to open the downloads folder when there is a certain number of large (1-3GB) zipped files - I work with a lot of data, and every time the downloads folder exceeds say 30GB it is not possible to open in explorer.
