ALT Key

[inquisitive1]

My mouse is not working. I am trying to delete it in device manager but I can
not get to it without the mouse! I am attempting to use the keyboard to
maneuver there but am unsuccessful becuase I lack both knowledge & skills to
use the keyboard (ALT, control & windows keys). I know it can be done but
how?!

In most configurations, when the mouse does not work:
1. TAB key jumps you from field to field
2 ARROW keys move you up/down or left/right within fields
3 ALT + letter key takes you to (underlined) menu selections.

There's usually some use of the tab key and arrow keys accessing Windows
with the keyboard. In many cases these keys can be used to shift the
focus between screen items. Look for dotted outlines or color reversals
to see which screen object has the focus.

Alt-F4 closes the application that's in focus.

Alt-Space accesses the menu associated with the title bar icon. That was
a little more obvious in Windows 3.1 when that menu had a picture of a
space bar on it.

Try this: TAB until My Computer has dotted line around it, Ctrl>SPACE to
highlight
icon, Alt>ENTER to open System Properties. You take it from there.

windows key>pause/break>right arrow>tab twice>arrow down to mouse>tab
three times>enter.
