How to suppress system fonts in Windows 10

It's annoying to have to scroll past all those foreign-language fonts in a font list for WordPad, etc.Editing the registry has been suggested. Too much complication. Settings>Fonts is useless.So I went into the /Fonts folder in /Windows and right-clicked to Hide various fonts, mainly out of desperation.This removed the fonts from the WordPad fonts menu. Success!
