$RECYCLE.BIN is 51GB but says there's nothing in it?

I'm going through and cleaning my computer using TreeSize Free (TreeSize Free | JAM Software (jam-software.com)) and I'm looking at my D:\ drive which says it's $RECYCLE.BIN folder is 51GB.However when I look at it in file explorer, it says it's empty!Which one is right? Is there actually something there and it's just hidden?
