After failed "Reset" Windows 10 crashed and won't start after Update attempt. "Unexpected kernel mode trap". How to fix?

I had problems with some updates so tried a reset after "update trouble shooter", SFC scan, DISM scan, and manually attempting the updates all failed. This is a current and otherwise up-to-date Windows 10 Home system. After the failed reset, it did boot one time and I immediately tried to update. Update showed 4 available and when I clicked, the computer crashed. Now I get to the sign-on screen, and it stops with the above Unexpected kernel mode trap message. I tried the media creation tool and it would not finish; "There was a problem running this tool" "0z8007043C -0x90018". This ma
