How do I set default image size when I open image files with the Photos application?

In the past, whenever I opened the Photos app (which is my default image viewer), it would open at least as either 1280x720 or 1600x800. Nowadays it's stuck at a much smaller size window whenever I open an image file, and I can't find a setting or property function that may fix this. Is there a way to set a default window size for Photos application? Would it be in Settings, or a code I'd have to enter in command prompt?
