When i try to get a email to verify my account, it gives me a 6 digit security code. the input requires 7. Whats going on?

Im trying to log into another device. The device requires a security code. I enter in the 6 digit code that Microsoft Provides me, but the input requires seven. Am i just going insane or did microsoft mess something up? Ive tried getting several emails, but all do the same thing.
