Split from this thread. I recently had a problem, like others, with window 10 desktop icon drop shadow randomly reappearing. I found an article in the Community posted by Bat Bytes on 2nd December 2021 titled 'Drop shadow for desktop icon text font keeps coming back' but it is now LOCKED so I am unable to post the solution that worked for me. You seemed to be helping Bat Bytes so I hope I have not broken protocol by contacting you here, but I wanted to pass on the solution that seemed to help me.
