Why the fonts looks different on my laptop whereas looks smooth on my office VCS machine that is accessed remotely from my laptop?

When I access websites from my office VCS machine, remotely from my laptop, the fonts are nice and smooth. However when I access the same website on my laptop the font is not smooth. Not only on browser but on other applications as well. So it could not be the display setting or resolution of my machine otherwise even my office desktop via remote connection should be same. I compared chrome browser setting and have same setting. Please can anyone advise the cause of this issue.For eg. I tried accessing Amazon documentation. On my VCS machine (via remote connection from my laptop) the fonts are
