Why isn't there an option to show all files in the navigation pane with the folder tree?

Why isn't there an option to show all files in the navigation pane with the folder tree?try to using the navigation pane to make my life easy and drag files between folders without having to open them, why is it not possible to allow users to show the files inside the folders by clicking the expand tree arrow.
