Need proper drivers, but can't install

I have an older HP desktop, 2nd generation i7, Pegatron 2AB5 motherboard, Samsung SSD. Using a Toshiba TV as monitor; also have external speakers connected at the back of the computer. Since installing the SSD and allowing the Windows 10 updates, I have no consistent sound from either the TV or back-of-computer outputs. (Sometimes, after undetermined number of minutes, sound will finally come through on the TV--but it doesn't stay on.) I think I need the Realtek audio driver, but it won't install.
